Nirjuli, Nov 3: Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) organised a display of bamboo products like bamboo shoot pickles, dried bamboo shoots, dried flack bamboo shoots and fermented bamboo shoots prepared by its Food Process Engineering Laboratory under the Department of Agricultural Engineering here on Monday.
Director NERIST, Professor H. S. Yadav made the inauguration in presence of various departmental heads, professors, UBA team members and NERIST Students’ Union President and Secretary. Professor Yadav said that traditional industries must progress for local employment generation. Dean Students’ Affairs & Regional Coordinator UBA NERIST, Professor Pradip Lingfa stressed on infusion of latest technology, training of youths and improvement in marketing for making the bamboo products commercially more viable.
