NAMSAI, Oct 7: To promote local businesses, NERCORMP provided 12 pickup vehicles to different Natural Resources Management Groups (NaRMGs) and Self Help Groups (SHGs) of Namsai, Tirap, Changlang & Longding.
District Development Manager NABARD- (Namsai, Tirap, Changlang & Longding) Kamal Roy, flagged off the vehicles.
"The SHGs promoted by NERCORMP in Namsai ,Tirap and Longding districts will help at least 2178 households," he added.
He further suggested the beneficiaries for proper maintenance of the vehicles for maximum benefit of the project. It will also help in emergency medical cases as there are no ambulances services available in remote areas of Tirap and Longding, added Roy.
District Project Director, Ruzing Billai informed that that objective behind providing the pickup vans is to facilitate transportation of the farm produce of NaRMGs& SHGs to the nearby markets and for collection of agricultural produce widely grown in the districts. ES Newsdesk
