Anini, Mar 25: In a noteworthy development aimed at strengthening tourism linkages, the North East India Tourism Confederation (NEITC) and the Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration in the field of travel and tourism, with particular emphasis on the promotion of Buddhist pilgrimage tourism across the Northeast region.
The MoU was formally signed by Tsering Wange, President, NEITC, and Dr. Kaulesh Kumar, Adviser (Tourism), Government of India, and Secretary General, ABTO. The signing ceremony was held in the gracious presence of Mopi Mihu, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism, Bekir Nyorak, Deputy Commissioner, Dibang Valley.
The agreement seeks to establish a clear and structured framework of cooperation, delineating the roles, responsibilities, and collaborative mechanisms between NEITC and ABTO.
It reflects a shared commitment to promoting sustainable tourism practices while positioning Northeast India as a prominent destination within the Buddhist pilgrimage circuit.
This Memorandum of Understanding signifies a mutual intent to collaborate and strengthen institutional ties. It serves as an expression of goodwill and a guiding framework for partnership, without creating legally binding obligations beyond those explicitly outlined within the document. DIPRO
