NAHARLAGUN, Mar 16: In a bid to help the pig rearing farmers based in and around Itanagar, Naharlagun and Nirjuli, the North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA)-Tata Trust today organized a day-long vocational training programme for the Livestock Service Providers (LSPs) here at a private hotel.
Various Self Help Groups (SHGs) from the Capital Complex who attended the programme were imparted training on piggery farming, its management, breeding, feeding, disease control, sanitary measures, artificial insemination etc. by Senior Veterinary Officer of Central Cattle Breeding Farm, Nirjuli Dr. Taking Gammi. NEIDA District Coordinator Takop Tatin and its Project Associate Dr. Kesang Yeshi Tukshipa were also present on the occasion.
The NEIDA-Tata Trust has been supporting the pig farmers of the state both financially and technically. It has also signed a MoU with GoAP recently to extend collaboration for improving the quality of life of disadvantaged people, along with funding for agricultural development and extending support in livestock breeding and care.
