Roing, Aug 6: NEC Secretary K. Moses Chalai visited the Research Institute of Worlds Ancient Traditions Culture and Heritage (RIWATCH) at Khinjili and inspected the museum, library and all ongoing buildings located within the campus. 
The Secretary, accompanied by officials met with Deputy Commissioner Soumya Saurabh, and had a discussion about the ongoing projects funded by NEC. 
The secretary also examined the district profile of Lower Dibang Valley and opined that the district has about 70% of plain land area and has vast potential for horticultural products like ginger, turmeric, palm oil etc. He expressed his happiness about rapid progress of development projects in the eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh. The DC apprised him about certain issues including poor mobile network connectivity and road connectivity in certain parts of the district.
At PASIGHAT, Chalai, inspected ongoing  construction of the Agriculture College (Central Agriculture University ) at GTC here. The project is funded under NEC for creation of infrastructure for establishment in Agricultural and Allied Sciences.  The Secretary was accompanied by MLA Ninong Ering, Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu, Director, NEC (S& T), T. Jamoh today.
Incharge Dean Dr. Girish Chand informed that with the completion of full-fledged campus, regular classes will begin in from November. 
The NEC Secretary alongwith the local MLA Ninong Ering inspected the progress of ongoing Mirem- Mikong-Jonai Road and made a survey of the entire 15.670 km. Ering highlighted the importance of the NEC funded  MMJ road project in accelerating the socio-economic progress of the Ruksin-Subdivision which is agri-horti hub.
At Mirem, the Secretray also interacted with the people and GBs of the village and sough their support in developmental efforts. He expressed satisfaction with the quality of works adding that there should be no compromise of quality for infrastructural project.
EE PWD, Tani Taki informed that the 90% of the works has been completed with target by this November ahead of the target schedule.
