Guwahati, Sep 9: Governor of the state Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd) while participating in the concluding day of the 68th Plenary of the North Eastern Council on Monday shared his observations and concerns that are central to the developmental aspirations of Arunachal Pradesh.
Chairing the first session of the final day of the plenary, Governor said that every project undertaken in Arunachal must be implemented within given timeframes and cited the example of the on-going Hollongi Greenfield Airport which is to be completed by March 2022. He also highlighted the acute problems of telecommunication, i.e. mobile and internet connectivity along with road, air and rail communication. Highlighting the challenges faced by the state’s people, Governor underscored the strategic locational significance of Arunachal Pradesh and its huge potential in terms of natural resources. Reiterating that vast areas of the state are yet to be covered by telecommunication and road network, he emphasised that NEC as the ‘think tank’ of the region must address these challenges and assist the state government in this regard.
