Doimukh, Nov 5: An intense search operation by a team of 12 NDRF Itanagar on Thursday finally retrieved the body of a fisherman who drowned in Dikrong river near Nempo village in Papum Pare district on November 4 last.
The person has been identified as Nirjul Ali hailing from North Lakhimpur district in Assam who drowned while fishing. Although the NDRF team launched a search operation on the day of the incident itself, the body couldn’t be found. However, in the second attempt on the following day the body was retrieved 2.5 km downstream from the place of incident.
Commandant 12 NDRF Rajesh Thakur also visited the incident site and gave directions to the team members in the search initiative.
