Itanagar, Jun 25: National Cadet Corps cadets from Delhi Public School, Faridabad today interacted with the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), First Lady Neelam Misra and also with theChief Minister Pema Khandu.
Meeting the group which consisted of ten cadets including 6 girls and four teachers here at Raj Bhavan, the Governor advised the cadets to focus on their academics and extracurricular activities and exhorted them to be a good citizens of the country. The Governor, who was a NCC cadet from 1955 to 1959 with a ‘C’ certificate said that he was selected to the Indian Army because of his NCC certificate.
Sharing his experience in the state, the Governor told the NCC cadets that the state of Arunachal Pradesh and its people are unique and laudable with 26 major tribes and 100 sub tribes each with distinct dialects and traditions. It is noteworthy that they interact with each other in Hindi and always greet outsiders with ‘Jai Hind’, Governor added. He also shared with the NCC cadets his war experiences and moments of India’s first Independence Day.
Meanwhile, the cadets also called on the Chief Minister at his office where the CM gave a brief sketch of the state’s cultural diversity, tourism potential and places of historical importance. The students asked several questions to the CM wanting to know about the challenges of being a Chief Minister, his personal life, daily routines, hobbies, school life etc. Khandu met their inquisitiveness saying that cultural diversity of state is immense and the biggest challenge is taking all along and providing jobs to the unemployed youths graduating every year in large numbers.
