RONO HILLS, Nov 18: Rajiv Gandhi University today celebrated the 2nd Naturopathy Day here under the aegis of National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune, Ministry of AYUSH, GoI in association with its Placement Cell, Career Counselling Cell & Health Centre and V.M.R Foundation amidst a huge gathering.
RGU Registrar Professor Tomo Riba urged the participants to adopt and use healthy nature living practices and make good use of Naturopathy practices. Facilitator for the celebrations & Naturopathy Medical Officer and from National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune Dr. Muralidharareddy Veeram presented a paper on the theme “Mahatma Gandhi Nature Cure and importance of Naturopathy in day to day life”. Doctors and faculty members from Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) participated in the celebrations.
Naturopathy or Nature cure as a system has proven to be having great health promotive, disease preventive, curative as well as restorative values and Naturopathy Day is celebrated on November 18 each year in the country. Revival of Naturopathy started in India with the translation of German Naturopath Louis Kulne’s book, “New Science of Healing” into various Indian languages which gave a wide propagation to the system. Mahatma Gandhi was deeply influenced by Naturopathy and also used it on dear and near ones. RGU PR
