ITANAGAR, Sep 26: Participating in the mass plantation drive and awareness on plastic waste being organized by Minority Morcha Arunachal Pradesh under its “Seva Aur Samarpan Abhiyan”, Minister for Environment & Forest Mama Natung urged the denizens to join hands for a clean and green capital.
He also informed that to commemorate the 71st birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP party is organizing different events under ‘Seva Aur Samarpan Abhiyan’ in different parts of the country. Plantation drive, Green India, Clean India, Green Arunachal –Clean Arunachal is one of the campaigns, added Natung.
He further appealed to the denizens to join hands in Green Arunachal –Clean Arunachal initiative for a healthy environment.
While participating in the event, Mayor –IMC, Tame Phassang informed that the corporation is already working on the Solid Waste Management for the capital region. There is degradable and non-degradable waste similarly there is plastic that can be recycled and some cannot, so IMC is working on the method to reuse the plastic in constructing roads.
Further, he urged the public to cooperate with the corporation in keeping the twin city clean, green, and peaceful. 'Capital is for everyone, everyone should come forward and take responsibility to make it a clean, green, and peaceful capital.'
Among others, Advisor to Minister- Environment & Forest cum MLA Kumsi Sidisow, State BJP President – Biyuram Waghe and members of BJP frontal wings attended the event.
