PASIGHAT, Sep 16: WRD Minister Mama Natung on Wednesday visited the flood affected villages under Mebo Sub-Division in East Siang district to take stock of the current situation.
Natung was accompanied by the MLAs of 39th Mebo, Lombo Tayeng, 38th Pasighat East, Kaling Moyong and 35th Pangin-Boleng, Ojing Tasing along with Chief Engineer (W/Z) WRD Er. Getom Borang, East Siang Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh, SP Rajiv Ranjan Singh, ADC, Mebo Bani Lego, senior BJP leader Dr. Dangi Perme and others. 
He inspected Sigar and Namsing villages and the damages along Mebo Dhola road at New Borguli, Seram and Kongkul villages which have been severely affected by the marauding Siang with  erosion of several infrastructure and destruction of hundreds of hectares of agricultural and grazing lands. 
Speaking to this scribe, Natung said that state government is taking all measures to arrange funds for a permanent solution to the annual flood problem of these areas. Talking about the flood control bund that was snapped during the current monsoon, the Minister said that although the project was completed, it snapped from the middle of the tie-bund due to massive flood. He also added that the Central ministerial team which visited the area recently with the Chief Minister has assured the state a better flood mitigation project which is likely to come up by next year.
Later in the afternoon, Natung inspected the damaged spur at Komlighat and visited the Pasighat Millennium playground near IGJ HSS and Pasighat Ecotourism Park.
