Khonsa, Dec 19: Karateka Khamcha Kamhua, the Under-19 bronze medal winner in the 65th National School Games was accorded a warm reception today here at the Khonsa Market Bus stand by All Tirap Karate-Do Association (ATKA) and Tirap Olympic Association.
Felicitating Kamhua with a bouquet, Secretary General ATKA Wangcha Lowang said that she has been his student at Shotokan Karate-Do Club at Khonsa, adding that she also won gold medal in the State Level Under-19 tourney and a silver medal in District Level Khelo India tournament. Lowang also reminded the importance of learning martial arts like karate, kung fu and taekwondo especially for the self-defence of girls keeping in view of the current context when they are feeling more unsecured.
Daughter of Wangrum Kamhua and resident of Moktowa village and a student of Class-X in Government Higher Secondary School Khonsa, Kamhua expressed her happiness over her achievement and for the grand reception adding that without the immense support of her local guardian and her uncle and aunty Hangthian Tekwa and Nyamna Tekwa, she wouldn’t have reached this stage. She also showed gratefulness to her Karate Master, the present Secretary General of ATKA who always guided her from day one and gave moral support to participate in important national events.
The felicitation programme was attended by Chief of Moktowa village Tewang Lowang, public figures of Dadam area and family members & well-wishers of Kamhua. DIPRO
