Likabali, April 26: On the occasion of National Panchayat Day, Zilla Parishad Chairperson of Lower Siang, Pakmo Koyu visited Government Primary School, Adi Tako, to assess the condition of educational infrastructure.
He was accompanied by Gram Chairperson Goli Basar, Iri Bam (Gram Panchayat Member), and members of the general public.
During the visit, an interaction was held with the teaching staff to understand the ground realities of the school. The inspection revealed a deeply concerning situation. The school infrastructure is in an extremely poor and unsafe condition, with classrooms deteriorating and walls at risk of collapsing at any time, posing a serious threat to the safety of students and teachers.
It was further observed that the school is functioning without basic essential facilities, including lack of electricity. potable water etc. Such conditions highlight a critical gap in basic educational infrastructure that requires urgent attention.
In light of these challenges, a sincere appeal has been made to the State Government for immediate intervention and necessary measures to improve the infrastructure and ensure a safe, healthy, and conducive learning environment for children.
National Panchayat Day was also solemnly observed across Gensi, Seren, Koyu, Sibe, Kangku, and Likabali by Zilla Parishad Members (ZPMs), marking the importance of grassroots governance and community participation.(DIPRO)
