Dirang, Feb 6: Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) on Thursday visited the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Girls’ School, Khasso near here in West Kameng district to participate in its Annual Day function.
Governor while reiterating the necessity of women’s participation in development of society, said the nation will progress when every girl child is educated and appreciated the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission for instilling discipline, traditional values and ethos of Indian culture amongst the students. 
Earlier in the day, he visited the school campus of the lone girl's school of western Arunachal including classrooms, hostels and prayer hall and requested local MLA Phurpa Tsering for arranging land for campus expansion, to which the MLA assured his positive cooperation. 
Governor also provided entrepreneurship skill development equipment from Raj Bhavan to the school and further offered to cater to the school's Fine Arts and Music needs and provide books for the library.
Dogam Bagra of Class IX who stood 1st in the National Level Seminar in 2018, Neema Drema who was declared as Kala Ratna 2019 by the Student Development Society, Maharashtra and Leiki Droma who won Kala Gaurav Award 2019 for her excellent handwriting in junior category were felicitated by the Governor. 
First Lady Neelam Misra distributed prizes to the winners in academics, games and sports. At Governor’s request, General Officer Commanding 5 Mtn Div Major General Deepak Saini assured to deploy a lady army officer for imparting self-defence training to the students. A cultural programme showcasing the cultural varieties of Arunachal was presented. The school, which started 9 years ago with 49 students now has a strength of 280.
Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki, Director CSIR, NRCY Dr. P. Chakravorty were amongst others present on the occasion.
Continuing with his Dirang visit, Governor addressed a public meeting and interacted with Gaon Burahs, local weavers, local people and government officials today.
Advising them to take forward the missions of Swachh Bharat, Start Up etc, he called upon the officials to implement developmental programmes and projects with transparency, honesty, continuity and mid-course correction where ever necessary and advised them to meet the common people and make field visits frequently. Urging people to maintain cleanliness, he appealed them to stop using one-time use plastic bottles and exhorted the youths to take up ‘Start up’ projects to become entrepreneurs. 
Citing the example of the highly educated youths of Namsai doing agriculture based work, he advised all to explore avenues in agriculture, horticulture and allied sectors to bring prosperity to the state. Emphasizing on education, Governor appealed people to ensure that every child above age of six years goes to school. He felicitated the Gaon Burahs with Raj Bhavan etched wall clocks and urged them to work with sincerity and promote the rule of law. First Lady distributed yarns to the meritorious weavers of the district and presented CDs on ‘Loin Looms of Arunachal Pradesh’ to the textile and handicraft officers to promote local loin loom practice. Local MLA, DC and Director CSIR, NRCY also spoke on the occasion.
Later during the day, Governor visited the Thupsung Dhargyeling Monastery and appreciated its spiritual magnificence. PRO Raj Bhavan
