Khonsa, Sep 5: The ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ jointly organized under the aegis of Tirap District Administration in association with the Department of Social Justice and NGO Care Me Home Drugs De-addiction cum Rehabilitation Centre was launched on Saturday at Charju.
The campaign was formally launched by DD (WCD) Hacham Bangsia in presence of Chief Functionary CMHWS Sontung L. Bangsia, inmates of CMH De-addiction cum Rehabilitation Centre and people from various villages of the district. Launching the campaign, DD(WCD) said that it is a Central government initiative to be carried out across the country to ensure reduction in drug demand and its abuse in the identified 272 districts and Tirap has been selected as a ‘Drugs Vulnerable District’. Resource Person Dr. Sompha Sumpa, GDMO of General Hospital, Khonsa gave awareness on health and hygiene and appealed the district’s youths to shun drugs and all narcotic substances.
Chief Functionary CMHWS assured to extend full cooperation to the DA and Department of Social Justice and Empowerment to carry out awareness campaigns on “Nasha Mukt Bharat”. DIPRO
