KHONSA, Feb 10: The annual Namsang-Borduria Fund (NBF) Advisory Committee meeting was held here at the DC’s office under chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Tirap Taro Mize in presence of MLA-cum-Trustee NBF Wanglin Lowangdong on Tuesday.
Former Minister Wangpha Lowang as a special invitee and members of the Committee from Namsang and Borduria areas attended the meeting. Briefing about the fund which formed as per an agreement between the Angs (Chiefs) of both  Namsang and Borduria with the then Governor of Assam in 1948, Lowangdong enumerated its intention which is for using in all-round development of the people in Namsang and Borduria in particular and the tribals of Tirap district in general.  A number of developmental activities have been undertaken in various fields from the NBF Trust including establishment of RK Mission School, Narottam Nagar, Deomali for boys and Ramakrishna Sarada  Mission School, Khonsa for girls, the Minister informed, adding that it is currently facing a financial crisis as inflow of share of forest revenue has stopped since 1996-1997 due to a ban imposed on timber operations by the Supreme Court. 
The DC-cum-Chairman of the NBF Advisory Committee divulged that the only source of income of the Trust at present is through interest accrued from the fixed deposit of revenue received against forest share prior to 1996-97. While stating that the Trust’s annual expenditure far exceeds its annual interest-based income, he suggested seeking grants-in aids from the government for continuance of developmental and socially-useful activities.
And as requested by the members, the DC-cum-Chairman assured necessary support from the District Administration in obtaining such financial aids from government agencies. DIPRO
