Namsai, Jul 20: In the wake of the spike of Covid-19 positive cases in Namsai district which have touched 35 and also in the adjoining Tinsukia district in Assam, an executive order banning transportation of tea leaves from Namsai to Tinsukia with immediate effect has been issued which will remain in force till further order.
All the new cases are returnees from the rest of India comprising employees, students, CRPF and GREF personnel and all are currently undergoing treatment at the Covid Care Centre (CCC) at New Administration Building. “Our frontline warriors such as doctors, paramedics and police have been working around the clock to ensure better services and care for the inmates,” Medical Superintendent District Hospital Namsai Dr A Wailong informed. The District Administration has imposed a total lockdown since July 17 which will continue till July 23. “ The lockdown has received support from the district’s people and 144 CrPC has been in force till further order,” EAC cum Magistrate W Mosang informed.
