ITANAGAR, Jul 17:
While the state government is celebrating the completion of successful 1 year of Pema-led BJP government, on the other hand, the Mere Vichar Andolan Committee (MVAC) on Monday observed "black day" and held demonstration and dharna against the government at Indira Gandhi Park, Itanagar this morning.
A large number of protesters under the banner of MVAC gathered at the Tennis court and unfurled black flag to register their protest against the government and to show their resentment for not giving justice to the Pul family.
The MVAC has been demanding a probe into the 60-paged note purportedly written by former chief minister, late Kalikho Pul, resignation of chief minister Pema Khandu, DyCM, Chowna Mein and PD Sona on moral ground, besides
demanding Sona to return back Rs 4 crore, which he allegedly took from late Pul.
Clarifying that the committee had no personal grudge against the trio, convener MVAC, Tasing described their movement as not politically motivated but a people’s movement. Tasing said that the incumbent CM, Khandu is not capable to run the government and the people have lost confidence over his ruling along with his sub-ordinates.
He reiterated that committee would never relent in its movement against the trio, until or unless their demands are fulfilled.
Also in continuation with their state wide protest, the committee further disclosed that soon a protest rally will be held at Tawang.
