PASIGHAT, Feb 16: The festival of commencement of the agrarian season of Mising community, the 10th Ali Aye Ligang was celebrated in Pasighat today with traditional fervour, pomp and ceremony at the Mising Murong Okum, near Mirmir Charali, Pasighat by the Ali Aye Ligang Celebration Committee (AALCC) 2022. The traditional dance form, Gumrang was performed and the festival was marked by a grand community feast.
Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong and the DC Er. Tayi Taggu graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. 
Attending the celebration, MLA Moyong appreciated the unity between the Mising and Adi communities and appealed both the communities to preserve the age-old culture in its truest form and urged them to prevent its dilution from the onslaught of modernity. 
Moyong expressed his delight over the fact that since time immemorial the Mising and Adi communities have been maintaining strong bond of brotherhood laced with colorful culture, with harmony. Taking privilege, the MLA appealed the Pasighatians to create awareness among the youths on the harmful effects of drug usage. He further urged the people to take part in the awareness programmes being conducted time to time by the district administration, police, health department and NGOs in the district. People should come forward and inform the concerned authorities in case they find any anti-social activities in their localities. 
Congratulating the people on the occasion, DC Tayi Taggu stated that Ali Aye Ligang is the most vibrant festival of the Mising tribe, related to cultivation. People indulge in sowing paddy as a ceremony and songs, dances and music themes are varied but enjoyed by everyone during the celebration. Arunachal Pradesh is a land of fairs and festivals, the majority of which are celebrated with flavor of brotherhood and harmony, stated Taggu. 
Among others, Adi-Mising Baane Kebang (AMBK) General Secretary Okom Yosung, ESMWS General Secretary Digen Chayengia, AALCC 2022 President and Secretary Biju Doley and Horison Kuli respectively also spoke on the occasion. 
The celebration was also attended by ADC (Hq) Tatdo Borang, PMC Chief Councillor Okiam Moyong Borang, ZPMs and host of officers and leaders.  DIPRO
