PASIGHAT, Jul 22:

 

Parliamentary Secretary, Disaster Management and Pasighat local MLA, Kaling Moyong attended a national workshop on Smart City Mission (SCM) today, held at the Tamarind Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, organized by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (GoI) and National Institute of urban affairs.

 

The workshop aims to sensitize the elected members, commissioners, representatives and smart city functionaries of the newly selected thirty Smart Cities. The workshop aimed at offering insights on setting up of Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) and appointment of Project Management Consultancy.

Participants were also introduced to implementation of key SCM projects such as heritage, place-making, riverfront development, smart solar generation etc.National Mission Director Smart City (MoHUA) GoI Sameer Sharma and Director smart cities Sajeesh Kumar advised and shared best practices adopted by other smart cities.

 

Soon after the meeting, PS (DM) Moyong instructed the Director TP&ULB (GoAP) and PMC functionaries for immediate formation of City SPV for Pasighat and implementation of projects as envisaged under Pasighat Smart City Proposal. He assured to pursue with the state government for state share fund and other convergence schemes implemented by the state government.

 

Moyong was accompanied by Chief Councilor of Pasighat Municipal Council (PMC) Kaling Doruk, Amoy Morang Director TP & ULB (GoAP) and PMC Member Secretary Tani Talom.
