3rd Bharat Lok Sangeet Arunachal Utsav connects with youth
ITANAGAR, Dec 30: Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU GKY) which is the flagship programme aimed at placement linked skill development of Union Ministry of Rural Development was rolled out in Arunachal Pradesh with signing of 1st DDU GKY MoUs today.
A simple but impressive MoU signing ceremony was held at Siang Guest House at Pasighat today in the august presence of Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Health and Family Welfare, Alo Libang as chief guest and Nyali Ete, Special Secretary (RD and PR) as guest of honour. Two MoUs under DDU GKY were signed in the ceremony. The first MoU was signed with Baba Saheb Ambedkar Technical Education Society (BSATES) and the other was signed with Dadi Hamgio Charitable Society.
With this, the placement linked skill development initiative under MoRD’s DDU GKY programme shall commence from January onwards.
Speaking on the occasion, Libang assured support of State Government to the PIAs in future. He also said that he was willing to intervene to facilitate smooth and time bound implementation of all programmes of Government of India in the State. He congratulated the PIAs and ArSRLM team for successfully completing the first step of implementation of DDU GKY. Experience of first few PIAs would be instrumental in streamlining implementation of programme in the State.
He called upon the PIAs to ensure that all districts and blocks must be considered in mobilisation. While PIAs would get candidates with relative ease from locations such as Pasighat, Itanagar but there is an equal need for catering to remote locations and adopt a process that uniformly covers all locations from Longding to Tawang.
He encouraged the PIAs that State Government would be willing to provide additional target to existing PIAs based on their performance.
Nyali Ete briefly dwelt on the progress made under the programme. He called upon the PIAs to initiate work including mobilisation of rural poor youth at the outset. He also suggested that necessary preparatory work must commence given the certainty of a slow down because of enforcement of code of conduct during forthcoming elections.
Earlier, CEO cum State Mission Director ArsRLM Tabin Siga welcomed the guests and representatives of PIAs. Dr. Rakesh Srivastava Chief Operating Officer ArSRLM gave a brief presentation on present status of DDU GKY in the State.
The representatives of PIAs praised the effort and encouragement provided by the Hon’ble Minister RD, PR, Health and Family Welfare, Special Secretary (RD & PR), CEO cum SMD ArSRLM.
Senior officials from ArSRLM were also present.
