ITANAGAR, Apr 16: A month-long Poster Exhibition on COVID-19 Pandemic was inaugurated at Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre today which will be open for the public upto May 16.
With the aim of taking the message of 'Science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom', AP State Council for Science & Technology, in association with Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, Noida, reached out to its audiences in the shape of a poster exhibition – taking its mandate of science communication, popularisation and extension to the next level.
The poster exhibition uses infographics for effective dissemination of message to general mass.
In his inaugural address Chief Guest, C.D. Mungyak, Director cum Member Secretary, A.P. State Council for Science & Technology, spoke about the current pandemic scenario which has posed concerns and challenges all around, where scientific awareness and health preparedness play a significant role to help combat the situation.
This requires usage of authentic scientific information to convey the risks involved and facilitates communities to overcome the situation. This poster exhibition is a small step in this line, he said.
Resource person Dr. Nabam Peter, Health Reasearch Scientist cum CEO, CMAAY/AB-PMJAY, Arunachal Pradesh, delivered presentation on the current scenario of COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh and warned that if we will not follow-up on appropriate COVID-19 behaviour the sitiuation may become grim.
Dr.B.K. Tyagi, Scientist, Vigyan Prasar delivered an online presentation on 'Living with Corona, an Environmental Perspective,' who is also the key person in development of the poster exhibition.
