KHONSA, Sep 21: The Monitoring and Supervision Mission of NERCORMP, a livelihood project of NEC, Ministry of DoNER, Government of India, conducted in the identified districts of Tirap and Longding districts successfully concluded today.
The Mission Team was led by Vice Chancellor of Martin Luther Christian University and a retired Country Program Officer of IFAD, Dr Vincent T Darlong and accompanied by Directors of NERCORMP HQ Shillong Adrian Marbaniang and Rajkhungur Basumatary and specialist members.
During the Monitoring & Supervision period of the project, the team visited project villages comprising of Ottongkhua & Naitong in Longding district and Lapnan and Hunkan project villages in Tirap district. They had direct interaction with the project beneficiaries, Self Help Groups, NaRMGs, Cluster associations and SHG Federations of adjoining project villages.
Further, the mission team also interacted with the District Administration and Heads of the line departments in the Late Kamlesh Joshi Conference Hall, Khonsa. Earlier in the day, Dr Vincent T Darlong also inaugurated the first ever Sanitary Napkin Production unit in Khonsa in presence of the District Administrations, Head of Departments and NERCORMP officials.
