ITANAGAR, May 23: MLA of 40 Geku Mariyang, Kanggong Taku visited Mariyang today to take stock of the latest situation in Mariyang Circle which has witnessed sudden surge of COVID-19 positive cases compelling the district administration to declare three areas-- Damro, Bomi and Mariyang township as containment zones on May 21.
Maintaining all SOPs, in a meeting attended by the administration, government officials, PRIs and public leaders of Mariyang, the MLA while appreciating the effort of the Covid management team also appealed to the public of the areas to support and cooperate with the administration and the Covid team in combating and containing the virus in the area. 
Stating that the public has a big role to play in containing the virus transmission, he urged people not to take the matter casually and to be careful and follow Covid appropriate behaviour.
As a goodwill gesture, he donated and handed over Rs 1 lakh to Dr Manjuli Komut ADC Mariyang to meet up the contingency at their level.
