YACHULI, Oct 7: The legislator, Yachuli, Likha Saaya on Saturday provided a sum of 35 lakhs rupees in cash from his MLA Local Area Development fund (LAD) for the development of Kugi Tago Panchayat Segment, Pistana Circle, Yachuli.
Accompanied by EEs, PWD and RWD along with AE, PHED and members of Vistarak, BJYM, Mahila Morcha, Ex ZPMs, ASMs, public leaders etc of Lower Subansiri, the programme aimed to reach the unreached and to address public grievances at their doorstep.
Since last two months, Saaya has been extensively touring to the farthest and remote villages under his constituency.
Responding to a five-point memorandum which includes the adequate supply of safe drinking water and power, up gradation of link roads from Bikh to Toti, Saaya also announced to solve the electrification and drinking water issues within this month and directed the accompanying engineers to initiate action to address these problems on priority basis.
Over the demands for creation of the Anganwadi centre, upgrading of government middle school to secondary level, he said signatures of all public of the area will be needed to create a proposal that has to be submitted to the concerned authority for the creation Anganwadi centre.
For the up gradation related issue, he said he will take up the matter with the concerned education department and Minister on top priority.
He also assured to look into the demand of widening, plastering of the link road from Bikh to Toti under SADA.
Concerned over funds misused which he mentioned is the reason which slows down the progress in the area, Saaya said from now onwards to ensure effective utilisation of funds and timely execution of developmental projects he will personally monitor their progress and status.
Further interacting with the panchayats in massive developmental meetings, Saaya described their role as pivotal for development, real grassroots level worker and public voice.
He mentioned that the sole aim of the panchayats should be to work for public welfare and exhorted them not to play dirty politics.
BJYM, Lower Subansiri, president, Toko Bath appealed the people to take advantage of various pro-poor schemes launched by the Central and State Governments.
He exhorted villagers not to always blame their legislator when they feel like they have been deprived of development and instead introspect on why it hasn't reached to them and what reason is delaying it as funds for development are released equally and timely.
The programme concluded with the chanting of Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram', followed by community feast.
Chairman, Lishi Bath, chairman of the Kugi Tago development committee, lauded Local MLA for his active efforts and donating such a huge amount for overall development of the area.
