PASIGHAT, Nov 11: Pasighat East MLA-cum-Adviser to Minister UD, Municipal, Administration etc. Kaling Moyong today inaugurated a seven-classroom Model School building at Government Secondary School, Gandhi in presence of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh, DDSE Jongge Yirang, officers and public leaders.
The building has been constructed by the UD and Housing department under the Model Residential School programme of Chief Minister Adhunik Pathshala Yojana (CMAPY) with an amount of Rs 100 lakh. Making the inauguration, Moyong congratulated the school fraternity including parents for having the building with toilet and drinking water facilities and appreciated the department and DDSE for ensuring the quality of construction. While observing that there is enough space in the school compound for further infrastructural development, he assured to take up the matter with appropriate authority for an up-gradation to higher secondary level.
The DDSE informed that although Model Residential Schools have been discontinued by the state government, keeping in view of the demand of the parents and district’s people, the school would continue to function as a Model Residential School having one entry level at class VI with an intake of forty students and admission would be based on merit. Management of the hostel would be shouldered by the parents from their own sources for which a Hostel Ration Management Committee has been constituted with parents as members.
Earlier on the day, the DC inaugurated a three-classroom building constructed under SJETA at Government Primary School here at the 3rd Mile area in presence of Moyong and officials. DIPRO
