PASIGHAT, Apr 5: In a humanitarian gesture, Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong has handed over two thousand face masks to East Siang Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh to supplement the Covid-19 fightback in the district.
In addition to this, Moyong distributed five hundred masks to BPGH Pasighat and also a good number at several places in the township including police stations and checkgates to deal with the shortage of masks in the market due to panic buying. While discussing with the officers on the prevailing situation, the MLA informed that he had personally discussed with Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Health Minister Alo Libang who have assured immediate functionalization of the ICU at BPGH. SP Rajiv Ranjan Singh, JDHS Dr. D. Raina, DMO Dr. Kaling Dai, DSO (Surveillance) Dr. Tarik Talom, DDMO G. Tsumo and party workers were present during the handover.
Moyong while appreciating the efforts of the DC in containing Covid-19 extended thanks to the medical fraternity and police for their relentless services. The MLA also conveyed his gratitude to the NGOs namely WASE, ABK, BBYK, BBYK, Green Dreamers, Mirmir Bulls, Students’ Unions of East Siang and the denizens of Pasighat for their support and cooperation in maintaining the lockdown successfully. “Only nine days are left and therefore everyone should maintain social distancing as a preventive measure and enable the District Administration to make Pasighat absolutely free from coronavirus,” he said.
Simultaneously, a series of initiatives to help the local administration in fighting the pandemic have been seen. Pasighat Anandamoyee Kalibari headed by its President J. Dasgupta and Secretary. K. Birmangal Singh had generously donated 21,000. The Sikh community of Pasighat Gurudwara has given ration items and the Manager of Sanggo Gas Agency S. Paul has provided LPG and ovens for the stranded persons.

ABK (East Siang) Vice President Protocol Talop Darang and Publicity Secretary Tarin Taying on Sunday provided mineral water, cold drinks and biscuits to the on-duty police personnel and volunteers. DIPRO
