ITANAGAR, Jul 27: An FIR was registered at Kimin Police station against unknown persons for allegedly trying to obstruct under construction PMGSY road connecting Kimin -Doimukh via Lora, Bello and Buka under Kimin in Papumpare District on Monday.
The complainant, who is the project manager in the FIR mentioned that on July 27 few unidentified miscreants from Assam around 1:30 Pm torched six diesel barrels and destroyed windshield of the excavator used to construct the road project.
The incident took place when workers were on lunch break and miscreants ran away after destroying the properties, the FIR stated.
The 18km PMGSY road project sanctioned at the tune of 21 crores is being executed by M/S BB Enterprises, a firm based in Itanagar and work on the road started in 23 March this year with formation cutting already done for 9km stretch.
It is to be mentioned here that earlier on July 9, Assam Forest Officials allegedly stopped the construction on the said stretch of road and confiscated one excavator along with other materials from workers.
