MIAO, Feb 4 : A high-level team led by RWD Minister Honchun Ngandam along with UD Minister Kamlung Mosang and Chief Engineer RWD Er. Nyodu today inspected the ongoing construction of the 157 km long Miao-Vijoynagar road.
Reiterating the strategic importance the road carries for the state, nation and Changlang district, the RWD Minister directed the contractors and engineers to expedite constriction by engaging more men and machinery. “The road from Miao to Vijoynagar which is now under PMGSY was pending since last many decades but today we have covered at least 40 km from Miao by vehicles and I expect that within March 2021 at least 100 km will be completed,” Ngandam expressed confidence. Instructions have been also issued to the contractors and engineers to be present at the construction sites to supervise the work progress and complete the project within the stipulated time frame, the RWD Minister informed, while appealing the locals to cooperate with the construction agencies so that there are no interruptions.
Local MLA and Minister UD, F&CS Komlung Mossang also directed the construction agencies to expedite the project and assured to extend all-possible support in this regard. He further urged the Forest Department to coordinate with other lines departments for smooth progress of the project without disturbing the ecosystem of Namdapha National Park.
Among others, officials from Forest, Police and RWD departments accompanied the visiting team.
