PASIGHAT, Mar 25: Several school infrastructure projects were today inaugurated and inspection carried out at Borguli under Mebo subdivision in East Siang district.
Minister Education Taba Tedir and Minister Environment & Forests, Mama Natung today inaugurated the Girls Hostel, Type –II Quarters,Water Supply project of Govt. Higher Secondary School, School Auditorium of Govt. Higher Secondary School,Borguli funded under NESIDS. 
They duo also inspected Govt. Secondary School, Kiyit, Govt, UPS,Ngopok, Govt. Secondary School Motum, Govt UPS Siluk and Secondary Gandhi School, Indra Gandhi Govt. UPS in Pasighat. The Education Minister also inaugurated new academic block at JN College,Pasighat funded  under RUSA.  
MLAs ,  Lombo Tayeng,  Kaling Moyong, ZPC, Olen Rome , DC, Dr.Kinny Singh, public leader, Dr. D. Perme DDSE, J.Yirang, CE, WRD, Getom Borang, EE(WRD),Pasighat Division, Gonnong Pertin were also present.
Addressing on the occasion at Borguli , the Education Minister said that as the State Government has declared  2021-22 as the year of Education; special thrust will be laid  on  infrastructure development, Teachers Training, Pre-primary education.  He informed that the State Government is also set to implement the New  Education Policy 2020 after taking the recommendations & inputs from all various stakeholders of the state and hoped that the education sector will see a paradigm shift towards holistic education.  
He lauded the initiative taken by the District Administration, all stakeholders, alumni and society as a whole for improvement and development of education scenario & infrastructure in East Siang, stating that it  is worth emulating by other districts. Admitting the lack of teachers quarters particularly in remote parts, Circle & EAC Outposts, he said  it will be taken up in  phase manner on priority. 
Taking note of absentee teachers, the Minister firmly said that strict action will be taken against such erring teachers  and asked the  School Management Committee(SMC) to report such cases to the authorities immediately. He said that they must realize that they are destroying the future of the young students. The fight  against menace of drug abuse must be taken up jointly by Parents,Teachers and society as whole to guide our young generation to the right path.
Earlier,  Mama Natung,  speaking on the Air Surrender Campaign launched by the State Government, urged all to come forward in this mission to protect birds & wildlife and save them from extinction.
The dwindling of birds & wildlife in our state which has the highest forest coverage is a matter of great concern, he lamented. DIPRO
