ITANAGAR, Oct 14: Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Bamang Felix today called for solution-oriented discussions and coordination among the officers and officials of RD and PR departments to ensure delivery of benefits to the rural masses.
The Minister was addressing a review-cum-coordination meeting on various Centrally and State Sponsored Schemes with PD/DPDOs of 25 districts under the RD and PR departments.
The meeting, chaired by the Minister, was also attended by RD/PR Secretary Amarnath Talwade, RD Director Kego Jilen, PR Director Tamune Miso, SIRD&PR Director Habung Lampung, PR Joint Director Likha Sampu and others.
Emphasizing on the importance of RD and PR departments in transforming rural Arunachal, Minister Felix also called on the officers concerned to go beyond their respective duty and shoulder their role in transforming rural Arunachal as responsibility.
“Don’t just work to achieve targets but also to shoulder responsibility towards humanity,” he said.
Informing that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu is keen on supporting the RD and PR departments, Minister Felix urged all to work sincerely and also advised the house present to include innovative ideas and projects in coordination with PRIs.
Furthermore, Minister Felix in his remark directed the officers concerned to hold monthly review meetings on implementation of various centrally and state sponsored schemes and to submit its report to the respective directorate for further review and monitoring.
Meanwhile, Secretary Talwade on his part lauded the PD/DPDOs for undertaking their roles and responsibilities despite several issues and challenges. He assured to provide assistance and support wherever required.
Directors of RD and PR earlier presented presentation on implementation and performances of various districts in implementing various flagship programmes of the central and state government, which was followed by open-house discussion on way forward.
