DAPORIJO, May 15: The high-level team led by Minister Tourism, TPT & CA Nakap Nalo on Friday visited the Covid care and quarantine centres here.
The team included MLAs Taniya Soki, Nyato Rigia, Rode Bui,  Secretary Disaster Management Dani  Salu, Secretary Health P Prathiban, Secretary to CM Ameya Abhyankar and others.Visiting the District Hospital here they interacted with the officials and staff and while visiting the  quarantine centres, inspected the quality of food and accommodation provided by the District Administration.
“We have inspected the three quarantine centres situated in the district headquarter and found that there are no compromises in the quality of food as well as accommodation and medical aid. Following the SOPs, we have also interacted with some of the stranded persons staying at the QC to know the ground reality,” Nalo said.
Addressing a meeting at the District Hospital the Minister assured to provide all-possible help to the health workers and encouraged them to stay strong during the pandemic.  Nalo also informed that besides ambulance, PPE and other requirements, state government will also install the ventilator facility. “There is no deficiency in fund and state government has already sanctioned sufficiently for every district and if required, will add more to strengthen the health sector,” he asserted.
While responding to the grievances of the healthcare warriors of the DHD, Secretary Health assured to provide all help to fight against the pandemic. “We have already released PPE to the district hospitals and the second instalment will be distributed within the next two days,” he assured.
Earlier, DMO T Taki informed that there are at least 18 quarantine centres in the district including one paid QC and added that at least 57 stranded people who came from different zones are being quarantined according to their travel histories and out of 57, samples of 52 persons are negative and results of the remaining are awaited. DMO also apprised the team on the problems being faced by the health workers due to shortages of PPE and Covid ambulance.
Attending the meeting, SP Upper Subansiri T Gussar briefed the team on the challenges being faced by the frontline warriors and urged the concerned authority to provide proper PPE to the police personnel especially those manning the district’s entry points.
