ITANAGAR, Jan 27: The Arunachal phase of footballer selection trials for boys born between 2010-2016 conducted by Minerva FC had concluded in Pasighat and Itanagar.
This was informed today by the Honorary Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) Kipa Ajay. Pasighat hosted the trials on January 25 and Itanagar trials were held on Wednesday at the SLSA ground. A total of 42 participants from different age categories showed up for the trials in Itanagar while 18 participants took part in Pasighat trials. 3 boys from Pasighat and 10 from Itanagar were selected for the next zonal round of trials to be held in Guwahati on January 29 and those getting selected there will go for the final trial at Minerva Academy in Chandigarh later this year. Earlier, Ajay met the officials from Minerva FC and assured them all-possible help from APFA in future for conducting more trials in the state. Director, Competitions John Neelam also witnessed the trials and  encouraged the participants.
“We are very pleased with the large turn-up and with the quality of talents we found here. We hope to come soon and conduct more trials,” Scouting In-charge of Minerva FC for Northeast region Udipta Sarma said.
