AALO, Jul 5:Sportspersons who brought laurels to the district in various games and sports eventswere felicitated in a function held at DC’s Conference Hall today.

The District Volleyball team who were runners up in the Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy, winners of Taekwondo in Khelo India and International Level Taekwondo competition in Bhutan were presented with medals and certificates and prizes by the Deputy Commissioner. 

Deputy Commissioner West Siang, Gamli Padu in his speech said ‘Games and Sports are emerging as professions and industry and those who excel have job opportunities as the state government is maintaining 10% reservation on it.’

Gold medallist Yaman Bunyi, Degam Ori Bronze medallist were the two girls who received the awards from the Deputy Commissioner. Nyalin Basar, Gold, Gamken Bagra, Bronze and Bido Ete, Bronze were also felicitated.
