ITANAGAR, Jul 31: Continuing their peaceful protest against Chief Minister Pema Khandu, members of the Arunachal Against Corruption shaved their heads as a mark of protest on Sunday.
Speaking to the media, President Tarh Tahar said that despite the weeklong protest and submission of representation to the Governor there has been no response.
"We are not against any individual but against the misappropriation of public funds worth crores under Chief Minister Pema Khandu. So as a mark of protest our members have shaved off their hair," he said.
Arunachal against Corruption (AAC) will move to the national capital Delhi to prove our protest, said Tahar while refuting allegations that political motive is behind the protest.
AAC is demanding CBI inquiry against Chief Minister Pema Khandu for alleged corruption under Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY) , Power Scam under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana ,  fund mismanagement in Panchayati Raj System, Dept of Mining & Mineral Scam, Gross misuse of CAMPA Fund, Hydro Power Scam and others.
AAC also alleged that, the Gauhati High Court Itanagar Permanent Bench has already disposed of the PIL No. 13/2019 filed against Arunachal Pradesh Mineral Development and Trading Corporation Ltd. Itanagar for misappropriation of public fund, and directed the authority to take appropriate action against those involved. But the present government is yet to execute the direction of the High Court.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Capital Region had granted permission to Arunachal Against Corruption to hold peaceful dharna from July 23-29,  but the organisation has extended its protest at the Tennis court.
