ITANAGAR, Aug 27: All Arunachal Tribal Rural Panchayat Restoration Andolan Committee  (AATRPRAC) members on a hunger strike were moved from the protest site at IG Park to the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences ( TRIHMS) because of their worsening health conditions.
The All Arunachal Tribal Rural Panchayat Restoration Andolan Committee has been on a sit-in peaceful protest since August 17 last and on hunger strike since August 22 last. They are demanding the cancellation of Panchayat Raj rights to Non- APST in the districts of Namsai, Lohit and Changlang.
AATRPRAC President Maji Tayem and General Secretary James Teli Camder were on hunger strike along with other members since the evening of August 22 last.
"We will not withdraw our hunger strike," said Camder while informing that the health condition of the President is deteriorating and he is unconscious.
"We are demanding the cancelation of Panchayati Raj  rights to Non-APST but the state government, as well as Panchayat Minister is silent on the issue," he said adding that they were brought to the hospital by the medical team whereas none from the administration has visited them.
We appeal to the people of Arunachal to keep alive the issue which is genuine and for protection of the indigenous people, Camder added.
Meanwhile, doctors informed that health condition is stable but advised the members not to continue the hunger strike as it might prove harmful.
