NAMSAI, Apr 13: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurated and dedicated a slew of completed infrastructural projects to the people of Chongkham today.
Mein started off by inaugurating the foot suspension bridge over River Teang at Chongkham, executed by the PWD connecting Chongkham I and Chongkham IV. This was followed by inauguration of the newly constructed science laboratory-cum-additional classrooms at the Government Higher Secondary School and an indoor stadium. Attending a public meeting at the new indoor stadium, the DCM expressed satisfaction over completion of the projects and their inaugurations before the auspicious occasion of Sangken. Namsai is one of the fastest-growing districts in the state and is also going to be one of the most-favoured tourist destinations owing to its improved road communication facilities, Mein said. However, he expressed concern over the growing menace of drugs among youths and called for concerted efforts by all stakeholders in fighting it. Hamara Arunachal Abhiyan recently launched in Itanagar will be launched in Namsai too, the DCM informed while calling upon the District Administration to gear up for its successful implementation in the district.
Mein urged all present in the event to surrender their airguns under the ongoing Airgun Surrender Abhiyan for preservation and protection of the district’s flora and fauna along with the appeal to all eligible individuals to take Covid vaccine doses. Earlier on the day, he inaugurated the Mahindra First Choice Service K&W Autoworld in Namsai and congratulated the young entrepreneur for taking benefit of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Swawlamban Yojna. The DCM also inaugurated Jeevaka Hong Ya Tai, a Tai Khamti herbal medicine store in Kongmukham and congratulated the members of the Tai Khamti Heritage & Literary Society and the local experts for opening the store.
MLAs of Namsai and Lekang, Chau Zingnu Namchoom and Jummum Ete Deori respectively, former MLA Chongkham Chow Tewa Mein, DC RK Sharma, SP DW Thongon, the Khamti Chief and a host of dignitaries were present during the above inaugurations. DCM Media Cell
