CHONGKHAM, Oct 13:

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein today exhorted party workers to gear up for the ensuing elections asserting that everyone must remain in election mode.

He also said that the coming elections will be fought with Pema Khandu as the chief ministerial face and that there should be no confusion on that front. He further informed that the BJP state chief Tapir Gao will be the face of the party in the forthcoming parliamentary elections from Eastern Arunachal.

Mein was speaking at the Mandal Coordination Meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party of 46-Chongkham Assembly Constituency held at the residence of local MLA Chow Tewa Mein at Alubari.

Chow Tewa Mein and Namsai MLA Chow Zingnu Namchoom were also present besides party functionaries including state chief Tapir Gao, ST Morcha Secretary SangeThungon and Junty Singpho, Secretary and district in-charge. Representatives from all the three mandals and morchas were present. A massive presence of senior leaders, women and youths was witnessed during the meeting wherein Chow Tseng Tsing Mein who was recently appointed State Executive Member in the recently concluded Extended State Executive Meeting at Pasighat was introduced from the party.

Also dwelling on the various central and state schemes the Deputy Chief Minister said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the developmental landscape of the North East has completely changed.

Tapir Gao spoke on various flagship schemes of the government both at the Centre and state and emphasised on the need to disseminate the programmes and policies so that the common man can benefit from these schemes. He said adding both central and state scheme beneficiaries the total would be around four lakhs in the state. Gao also said that the party and government does not tolerate corruption and as per law all violators shall be dealt with.
Gao also cleared the air regarding the National People's Party  (NPP) saying that the BJP has no alliance with that party and that it will go solo to fight all sixty assembly and two parliamentary seats. The alliances with NPP in some North Eastern states were all post poll alliances. Though the party was under NEDA but it does not amount to being political allies at all levels and stages, Gao asserted.
