 ITANAGAR, Jul 6:Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein along with state officials attended the 9th Edition of Delhi Dialogue that was held in the national capital on July 4-5 last. 

The Delhi Dialogue is a premier annual track event to discuss politico-security, economic and socio-cultural engagement between ASEAN and India. The theme for Delhi Dialogue 9 was' ASEAN-India Relations: Charting the Course for the Next 25 Years". Political leaders, policy makers, senior officials, diplomats, business leaders, think tanks and academicians from both ASEAN and India participated in the discussions.                                                                                                                                                  

This event was organised by the Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with other prominent organizations. 

The Ministerial Session held on 4 July, was hosted by the Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj and was attended by Minister of State for External Affairs, Gen VK Singh, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal among others.

Participating in the Ministerial Session, Mein emphasized on development and reconnection of Second World War famed Still Well Road, trade and commerce and cultural linkages through Pangsau-Pass with Myanmar and other ASEAN Countries during the discussion. 

The Concluding Plenary titled ‘Looking Ahead’ focused on key take ways from Delhi Dialogue 9 to chart the course for India-ASEAN relations for the next 25 years. In the event it was discussed that North Eastern States to form a land bridge to ASEAN region. The take ways for next 25 years of India – ASEAN relationship would primarily focus on active involvement of North East States. Road connectivity, maritime linkages, digital connectivity, Diasporas exchanges, securitization etc will be the areas of prime focus in the next 25 years.
