Roing, Aug 10: The District Committee on New India @ 75 Campaign held a meeting today to discuss the action plan and launch of the campaign in the Lower Dibang Valley district. The campaign has been initiated to establish a concept of New India with efficient, transparent and accountable government with development through mass movement to achieve a broad based economic growth to ensure balanced development. The campaign aims to disseminate information regarding TB/ HIV prevention and services, develop an understanding about the infection to reduce stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/ AIDS and TB and to encourage blood donation amongst the youth. Deputy Commissioner K. N. Damo called the campaign to create awareness on burning health issues very important and relevant in today’s context and hoped for the outcome of the campaign to be an effective one where real awareness has been created.  The DC also took the opportunity to apprise all on the COVID 19 situation in Roing town. He said that it is concerning that the positivity rate is above 14% in the last few days and called for strict adherence to SOP to bring down the numbers.  DMO Dr. Radesh Tatan and District TB Officer cum District AIDS Control Officer Dr. S. J. Mitapo briefed the members about the campaign. DIPRO
