ITANAGAR, Jun 3: Capital mayor Tame Phassang today distributed essential commodities to the families of the frontline warriors (FLWs) of the IMC.
Earlier, the mayor assured to provide immediate assistance to the corporation's FLWs and at least 200 of their family members were covered today. While acknowledging the challenges being faced by the FLWs during the lockdown period, Phassang encouraged them to follow the SOPs while discharging duties. “Nobody wants to impose a lockdown, but this is the only option to check the virus from spreading further,” the mayor stated. Besides distributing the essentials, he also assured them to look into their grievances of irregular salaries at the earliest. The mayor also chaired a meeting at the IMC conference hall to review the current Covid situation in the ICR. The corporators briefed on the number of cases, issues and grievances and shared ward-wise updates on the status of ongoing vaccination and RAT.
Problems relating to water supply and electricity within the ICR were also discussed in detail with the concerned Executive Engineers and District Administration through a virtual meeting on the day.
