Expressing concern on global warming due to dwindling of forest areas, he urged the youths to plant at least 3 saplings to compensate one tree being cut down and praised the noble initiative, adding that such programmes should also be taken up by other communities.
The plantation drive during which 1100 pear cuttings were planted was coordinated by Secretary Laprey Sirum, Anggong Litin and attended by Ex-officio members of ACLS Jia unit, Gaon Buras and elders and had been possible due to the overwhelming support by well-wishers and voluntary donations from villagers.
