TEZU, Mar 29: In the wake of the ongoing complete lockdown to contain Covid-19 pandemic, Lohit District Administration under the guidance of DC Prince Dhawan has uniformly distributed 10 kg rice, 1 kg pulses and one litre of mustard oil to each of the poor and marginalized families of the township.
“The beneficiaries are labourers from unorganized sectors comprising cart pullers, rickshaw pullers and daily wages earners who do not have ration cards. This assistance has been provided by the state government to these families whose livelihoods have been seriously affected due to the lockdown,” DF & CSO T Gamlin said.
Cheers were visible over the faces of these approximately 131 vulnerable families after receiving the free ration. The disbursements were made after identifying the authenticity of the recipients in presence of District Disaster Management Officer Damchen Norbu and EAC Rebecca Tayeng.
The Bazaar Welfare Committee, All Arunachal Pradesh Workers’ Union (AAPWU) and others also voluntarily aided and supported the distribution.
