MARDC clarifies that Bana, Lada not included in proposed map

ITANAGAR, Aug 8:The Mon Autonomous Region Demand Committee (MARDC) on Saturday clarified that only areas which come under the two districts of West Kameng and Tawang were recommended under proposed Mon region and Bana and Lada area which are part of East Kameng are not included in the proposed map.

The MARDC was replying to the clarification sought by Seppa MLA, Mama Natung and Bameng MLA, Goruk Pordung on the matter of showing Bana and Lada area in the proposed map for Mon Autonomous Region.

"It is further clarified that the boundary demarcation of West Kameng and East Kameng has been shown very clearly in the map and Bana and Lada area have been kept out of the boundaries of proposed MAR," Chairmen of MARDC and legislators, Jambey Tashi and Phurpha Tsering, stated in a joint letter issued on Saturday.

The duo also stated that Bana and Lada have been shown as adjoining areas of East Kameng lying in the eastern part of proposed Mon Region as is Assam in the south, Bhutan in the west and Tibet (China) in the north.
