BOMDILA, Oct 9: The court of the District & Sessions Judge cum Special Judge POCSO, Bomdila has convicted a 30-year-old man for sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl and sentenced him to seven years of rigorous imprisonment.
In addition to the jail term, the court slapped a fine of Rs 3000 on the convict.
Accused Nishu Jebisow, a resident of Buragaon village under the Thrizino Police Station area, was convicted for sexualy abusing his 10-year-old cousin.
The incident had occurred on 17 May 2020 and FIR was lodged by the victim's mother at Thrizino Police Station and case was registered vide Case No. 03/2020.U/S-376 IPC, R/W Sec. 4 of POCSO Act.
After hearing the conviction order, the accused escaped from the court but was later apprehended by the Bomdila Police and booked under 224 of IPC. DIPRO
