ITANAGAR, Oct 5:
A 34-year-old man identified as Yauchak Tadang was buried alive in a landslide which occurred at 10.30 am this morning near Paanchali located at Mowb-2 in the state capital.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred when both husband and wife were cleaning a drain in front of their OBT residence.
Itanagar Police station Inspector, M Mibang informed that the wife had come home for breakfast and was calling her husband to join her when the landslide occurred and buried him underneath.
At first, the wife tried to pull her husband out but failed, then called the neighbours for help, but when they together could not pull out the man, they alerted the police.
Executive Magistrate, ICR, Neelam Teji was also present during the rescue operation. The body has been handed over to the family after completing the legal formalities.
