ZIRO, Jul 13: The Lower Subansiri district administration carried out an eviction drive along the Joram –Koloriang Highway to clear the hindrances from the point 20.00 Km to 50.00 Km of the Package I & II. The action was taken since the locals did not budge inspite of repeated reminders to clear the COS structures along the highway by the district administration as well as the construction agency.
Deputy Commissioner Somcha Lowang along with ADC Toko Babu, EAC Highways Bamin Tarang and DLRSO Chakpu Raju monitored the entire eviction process. As a result, all the hindrances were settled.
Terming road connectivity as a catalyst to a vibrant economy, the Deputy Commissioner said that the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has not slowed the Trans Arunachal Highway construction works in Lower Subansiri District.
While highlighting the progress of the TAH stretches falling under Lower Sunbansiri, she informed that few hindrances in the Package II in Tajgi area whose eviction/dismantling were pending since 2-3 years have been cleared since May this year. Currently 99% of the hindrances along the Package II in Tajgi area have been cleared and 99% of the compensation payments have been made.
She further informed that the pegging process in Yazali and Yachuli area has been completed and the eviction process is also expected to be completed soon in Yachuli area under the supervision of ADC Yachuli, Toko Babu and CO Yazali, Tashi Thongdok.
It is worth mentioning here that after taking over the charge as Deputy Commissioner, Lower Subansiri in May 2021, Somcha Lowang has left no stones unturned to ensure the construction of the highway is accelerated. DIPRO
