ZIRO, Jun 4: To improve Covid vaccination coverage in Lower Subansiri district, 20 Nodal Officers have been appointed in villages where refusal cases have been identified.
The decision was taken today during the 6th District Task Force meeting on Covid-19 vaccination held here at the conference hall of Gyati Takka General Hospital. The Nodal Officers will coordinate with the ZPMs/PRI members, HGBs/GBs, vaccination teams, ASHAs and Anganwadi workers and try to convince those refusing to take the doses. After convincing them the Nodal Officers will coordinate with the DMO and schedule new vaccination sessions in respective villages. Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Somcha Lowang appealed to all the 45+ beneficiaries of the district to get vaccinated. While noting that Covid vaccination coverage in rural areas of Lower Subansiri is much better than in towns, she directed the officials to intensify the drive in and around Ziro, Old Ziro and Yazali.
DRCHO I/c-cum-Nodal Officer for Vaccination Dr Radhe Anku informed that line listing and door-to-door survey for 45+ beneficiaries and their vaccination status which began a week ago is almost complete and out of the 6822 listed, only 1748 are left out as of now. “With the appointment of Nodal Officers in all villages we are confident that these 1748 refusal cases will be convinced and the district will achieve its vaccination target,” she informed. 30 active covid vaccination centers (CVCs) have been set up in the district and apart from it, 13 Outreach Sessions (ORs) have also been held, she added. Issues like vaccination of prisoners, modalities for vaccinating 45+ beneficiaries without valid documents and manpower distribution were discussed in detail in the meeting.
Among others SP Harsh Indora, DMO Dr Tage Kanno, AIR Director Hage Tachang, MS Dr Kime Horming, EAC Tame Yajum and DD ICDS Dani Yami participated. DIPRO
