PASIGHAT, Sep 5: Along with rest of the country, the 60th Teachers’ Day was observed in East Siang and Lower Siang on Sunday evening. The solemn function to mark the 133rd birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.
At Pasighat, the celebration was organized by the Kiiling Kanggeng Society (KKS) which was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tatdo Borang, DDSE Oduk Tabing and SP Sumit Kumar Jha. Among others, Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong as a member of KKS and ABK (Apex) Vice-President Omer Tatin also attended the celebration. Many eminent educationists including serving and retired principals, teachers and members of KKS were also present on the occasion. 
The dignitaries highly appreciated the organizing chairman John Apum and KKS President Tagom Padung and their associates for celebrating the event in a grand manner. 
Three teachers --Tator Taloh, PGT of DEMHSS (Pasighat), Tamer Tamuk, TGT of Siying Govt Pry. School (Rani) and Jayon Tayeng, PRT of Sigar Govt. Pry. School (Mebo) were awarded by the dignitaries with citation and memento along with cash. 
The District Education Department Lower Siang District organized Teachers Day at Likabali today.
Dajo Ngomle BEO (Academic) said that the district for the first time was honouring the retired teachers for their lifelong services.
Superintendent of Police Lower Siang District, Kushal Pal Singh in his address congratulated the awardee teachers and extended thanks to the superannuated teachers for rendering lifelong service in nation building. 
Monya Nyori, Retired Joint Director of Elementary Education attended as chief guest.  Tage Kakki, DDSE Lower Siang District also spoke on the occasion.
Ten retired teachers of the district were felicitated including one teacher from five blocks were conferred Best Teacher of the Block. DIPRO
