ROING, Aug 24: A meeting of the District Task Force on Immunization (DTFI) for Routine Immunization (RI) and COVID-19 vaccination was held today at the DC’s Conference Hall, Roing.
DC KN Damo, who chaired the meeting, advised that although some people are not willing to get vaccinated for COVID-19, it is our duty to change their mindset and get them vaccinated in their interest as well as for the community. We should continue our work irrespective of people’s opinions and ensure that no one is left out, the DC told the Medical Officers.
Damo also advised the MOs to keep the health centres in the district well maintained, organised, neat and clean and provide good health care to the public. We will be giving a ‘Best Hospital (PHC & CHC) Award’ in the district, taking into account all the parameters, announced the Deputy Commissioner.
DMO In-charge Dr. S. J. Mitapo and DRCHO Dr. Raju Mena also spoke on the occasion. Medical Officers present shared some of their experiences of house to house awareness visits. They said that while some people were scared of vaccination, some believed that the disease is not prevalent in the area and it is the vaccination that will make them sick. It was possible to persuade these people but some were genuinely against getting vaccinated for their own reasons, the MOs added. DIPRO
